About Kaya Jones
Born Chrystal Neria in Toronto, Kaya Jones describes her heritage as Jamaican through her mother and Native American through her father. Her existing official biography recounts being discovered at thirteen by R. Kelly, signing to Capitol Records as a teenager, and rising to public attention as a member of the Pussycat Dolls. She left the group in 2005 and began building her solo musical career.
Her solo work includes “Take It Off” and “Into the Sun.” Kaya's official biography also describes performances for U.S. troops overseas and music and advocacy addressing human trafficking and military families. She is featured on “Let It Be Love,” from Jason Crabb's Unexpected, which won the 2019 GRAMMY for Best Roots Gospel Album. The Recording Academy lists Crabb as the award recipient.
Faith has also shaped the journey Kaya shares publicly. Her official biography describes Hebrew Bible studies, recording The Shema, Christian performances and hosting the 2024 International Christian Film Festival. She has spoken publicly about experiences in the music industry in Fallen Idols, as well as her personal experience with abortion; her published biography presents these conversations in the context of healing. That biography also recounts volunteer work with children and communities in Israel in 2024.
Today, Kaya and Housenatic bring their music together on the 13-track Choose Life. The new chapter keeps the past as context, not destination. The direction is forward: music, creativity, connection and Lve Everyone Unconditionally.
